On Monday the Santa Barbara City Council approved requests from several bars and restaurants to temporarily expand their liquor licenses to include larger outdoor areas. In previous years, the Council has denied similar requests from downtown businesses, but outdoor seating has been deemed a safer option due to COVID-19. Their decision allows the expansion through September 15.
