Transact has launched The Daily Local, a publishing system for local news that is offered for free to new and existing publishers.

The Daily Local is designed to embrace a new business model, one that does not rely on third party ad networks. Not only is this system, which is based on the WordPress CMS, free, but Transact will help set it up on a cloud server and customize it for any publisher that wants to adopt this new model.

Many local news publishers have already gone out of business, and many more will fail due to the financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Our goal is to help publishers and journalists that want to start new publications create sustainable platforms, especially those who do not have access to capital to fund that kind of venture.
